BARC Executive Director honors Corrina Gould and salutes International Women's Day...

Allison Brooks, BARC Executive Director, honors Corrina Gould and many other women on International Women's Day.

"Last evening BARC was honored to host, among many esteemed guests, Corrina Gould, Spokesperson for the Confederated Villages of the Lisjan/Ohlone Tribe that have inhabited the East Bay for thousands of years.

Corrina, co-founder of the Sogorea Te Land Trust, works tirelessly to reclaim lands taken from her Lisjan/Ohlone Tribe to ensure a place to practice traditions and return to serving as stewards of their land.

On International Women’s Day, I want to acknowledge the incredible work of Corrina, and other generous and unwavering women like her, who are leading us all to a more socially just and compassionate future; a future that requires us all to work together to acknowledge the horrific wrongs of the past while charting a new path forward that helps all humankind learn and embrace indigenous practices that can serve to lengthen our time here on Mother Earth."

Executive Dir., BARC
